Organizers:
CIFAL Bilbao and the Presidential Office for Information and Communication Technologies (OPTIC) of the Dominican Republic with the collaboration of the Basque Government and United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the support of the IT4ALL Network.
Objective:
To promote the Digital Local Agenda between the Local Authorities of the Caribbean and Central America and train them in order that they can later design their own Digital Local Agenda.
Description:
From the 8th to the 10th of October 2008 took place in Santo Domingo the training course addressed to Local Authorities of Caribbean and Central America on the design of the Digital Local Agenda. This 3 days course was a meeting point for mayors and decision makers at municipal level in which they were trained for the future design of their own Digital Local Agenda. They also had the opportunity to present and to exchange best practices developed in their territories of reference.
The course organized by CIFAL Bilbao and the Presidential Office for Information and Communication Technologies (OPTIC) of the Dominican Republic was attended by 36 trainees from Dominican Republic, Mexico, Equator and Colombia.
The training was guaranteed by one expert trainer from the Basque Country and one from the United Nations, 5 best practices form the participants were presented and 3 success cases were presented by three experts from the Basque Country and one from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
